A fast boat to Gili Trawangan

Transport to Gili Islands have now become a lot easier and more frequent. There are three main destinations you can travel from to get to The Gilis.

Bali to Gili Trawangan

The fast boats are the main form of transport. You can easily book a ticket via your accommodation in Bali or through any ‘tourist information’ center. Most boat companies have a website these days but prices offered on those sites tend to be more expensive than in the local travel agencies where you can easily haggle for decent price, depending on the seasons. Always ask if the price includes a pick up from your accommodation.

The two main ports in Bali are Padang Bai and Serangan. It takes roughly 2 hours to get to Gili Trawangan from these locations. 

Lombok to Gili Trawangan

Lombok airport is an international and domestic airport located near the South of Lombok. From the airport you can grab a taxi or book a private car to the nearest port. The journey is approx. 1,5 hours. Depending on the flight times, you can stay one night in Lombok and then in the morning travel to the nearest port and take the public boat or fast boat to Gili Islands.

Lombok’s main port to get to Gili Trawangan is Bangsal. However you can get to The Gilis from Senggigi, Mentigi or Teluk Nara as well.

The public boats are cheap and it will only take approx. 30 minutes to get to Gili Trawangan. When the boats fill up with passengers they will will leave to their destinations. There isn’t any specific departure schedule but the last boat is always at 5pm. If you take the fast boat it will take maximum of 20 minutes to reach Gili Trawangan. These are generally chartered boats and come with a different price but the same time surely are more comfortable.

Once you’ll arrive in Gili Trawangan, we are just a short walk away or you can take a cidomo (horse cart) which is the local way of transportation.
