Dive sites in Gili T
Located in the north-west of Gili T, Shark Point is one of the most popular dive sites. It is renowned for its thrilling encounters with black and whitetip reef sharks.
With beautiful soft corals and bommies, Shark Point is home to big Green turtles chilling in the shallows between 5-12m.
For the advanced divers, conditions permitting you can find the Glen Nusa Ship Wreck, a tug boat that was purposely sunk in 2016, a fantastic artificial reef that is now home to oriental sweetlips, snappers & unicornfish. Take a closer look and you can find pipefish and nudibranch. This really is a dive-site for everyone!
Nestled on the north of Gili Meno, Turtle Heaven lives up to its name by offering amazing encounters with huge Green Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles. It's a haven for turtle lovers and the perfect spot for underwater photographers with some of the most diverse and beautiful coral in the Gilis. A pinnacle reaches up to 10m making it a perfect spot for beginners as well as a great escape for deep divers as it drops down to 35m. Here you can discover a variety of macro from nudibranchs to pipefish, frogfish and crustaceans.
Situated off the south coast of Gili Trawangan, Manta Point can be the best spot to encounter devils, eagles & manta rays during the rainy season when the water is rich in plankton. From 10-15m you will be swaying in the surge above the beautiful pink cabbage coral with chances to encounter reef sharks and schools of sweetlips, snappers and fusiliers. The site's rich biodiversity and stunning hard coral formations make it a highlight of diving in the Gili Islands.
Located north of Gili T is a thrilling dive site known for its dramatic underwater topography and vibrant marine ecosystems. Dropping in the blue is an amazing experience with depths from 18-30m. Divers can explore between the large pinnacles that host massive barrel sponges and beautiful soft corals. The site attracts a variety of marine life, including reef sharks, stingrays, and an abundance of beautiful nudibranchs, providing an unforgettable diving experience.
Situated off the west coast of Gili Meno, the Bounty Wreck offers a unique diving opportunity to explore a sunken jetty teeming with marine life. The wreck sank during a storm in 1999 and is now home to a diverse array of marine species, including schooling drummerfish, and scorpionfish hiding between the beautiful soft corals growing on the wreck. If you want to spot a Pygmy seahorse, Bounty is your best chance! The top point of the wreck sits at 10m and slopes down to 16m, making it the perfect site for all levels. A large hill just a short distance from the wreck is also home to a lot of turtles, along with a big rock filled with generations of glass fish.
Two Walls of beautiful coral found on the north-west of Gili Meno drop down to 10-13m and 14m-24m. Nestled in the wall you will find moray eels, scorpion fish, pipefish and nudibranch. This divesite becomes particularly spectacular at night when all of the sponge,decorator crabs and red army shrimp come out. Don't forget to shine your torch up to see the squid and Spanish dancers above you.
Situated south of Meno Wall is a beautiful slope offering a serene underwater landscape suitable for divers of all skill levels. This sandy slope has vibrant coral formations teeming marine life. You can encounter blue-striped snappers, turtles, and occasional sightings of reef sharks.
Coral Basket beckons divers with its breathtaking coral formations resembling intricately woven baskets between 5-12m. Situated on the north of Gili T this dive site provides an ideal setting for divers of all skill levels. In the shallows you can encounter an array of marine creatures, including schools of triggerfish and snappers. Under the rocks you can find baby white tip reef sharks, beautiful juvenile angelfish as well as comet fish. Between 26-40m lies deep ridges of soft yellow coral, cliff edges and sometimes sightings of eagle rays, reef sharks and sting rays on the sandy bottom.
Bio Rocks is located on the east of Gili T, this shallow dive site is fantastic for macro life hosting pipefish, juvenile frogfish, flatworms and crustaceans. Bio Rocks are artificial reef structures created by submerged metal frames that act as a base for coral attachment and growth. These structures provide a habitat for marine life while also promoting coral reef restoration and regeneration. Installed with the help of eco-conscious initiatives, Bio Rocks play a crucial role in enhancing marine biodiversity and preserving fragile ecosystems.
Dive into the heart of the Gili's at Good Heart, our house reef is a slope that drops down deep into the channel between Trawangan and Meno. This dive site boasts healthy corals and some bio rock structures for coral gardening. Good Heart offers a variety of marine life from macro critters to frogfish, turtles and reef sharks. Night dives here are fantastic in the shallows at you can see octopus out hunting, dwarf cuttlefish and bobtail squids.
Halik Reef is located on the north of Gili T and is a favourite for drift dives. In the shallows, you will find big bommies and an array of antler coral dropping to a small wall down to 12m. Hidden under the wall you can find baby white-tip reef sharks. In the shallows, you will find turtles, reef octopus, cuttlefish and moray eels hiding between the coral.
The site slopes down to a sandy bottom with beautiful deep ridges of barrel sponges and soft corals. You have chances to see black and white tip reef sharks, blue spotted stingrays and ribbon eels.
Discovered on an exploration dive this reef was one of Gili's best-kept secrets. Secret Reef is a dive site located between Gili Meno and Air reserved for those with Open Water certification or higher.
It drops down to 35m with an impressive topography of hard corals and deep pinnacles. In the depths, you can get lucky and spot Bumphead parrot fish and eagle rays passing by in the blue.
Located off in the blue between Gili Meno and Air this site is known for its rugged terrian. Dive into the depths of Simon's reef to explore the large canyons that rise hosting barrel sponges, vibrant soft corals. The highlight is it's huge gorgonian sea fans, the perfect place to look for some pygmy seahorses if you have the eye! In Simon's, you can encounter pelagic species, and witness the beauty of the untouched underwater landscapes. A must-see for experienced divers.
Located in the north between Gili Air and Gili Meno this site named Takat means large coral heads in Indonesian. The topography of this dive site is particularly spectacular, it consists of a large flat plane at 12m covered in huge barrel sponges, bommies and sea fans. Dropping down to 40m you can explore the depths between the pinnacles watching the kuhls and blue spotted sting rays hunting between the garden eels.
Situated on the north coast of Gili Air is a pinnacle of coral surrounded by a sandy bottom. This is a great dive site to find bottom dwellers like snake eels, Indian ocean walkmen, and flounder. As you reach the pinnacle you will find an array of hard corals that serve as a nursery to juvenile sweetlips, surgeonfish & angelfish. Around the pinnacle, you can find cuttlefish, as you reach the top you can see big green turtles chilling on their cleaning station.
Located in the west of Lombok this dive site is worth the journey! This shallow muck diving spot is one of the favourites for night dives. Shine your torch and you will find painted frogfish, decorator crabs, pipefish, coconut octopus and leaf scorpionfish on an exciting night dive here.
Head up to the shallows to see if this dive site lives up to its name. At 5m you can spot the common seahorse along with the occasional mimic octopus.
